Elon Musk reveals that X plans to reduce the visibility of posts using bold fonts.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, has urged users of the social media platform to limit their use of bold fonts in posts.

He announced that such posts will no longer be prominently featured in the main timeline.

Musk emphasized that while the bold font option is meant to highlight key parts of messages, overusing it can diminish a post’s overall appeal.

In a recent post, he expressed his frustration, saying, “You’ll need to click on post details to see anything in bold. My eyes are bleeding.”

The new change, effective immediately, means that any text formatted in bold will be hidden from direct view on the main feed.

Users will now need to click on individual posts to view the bold text. This update applies to both web users and those using the iOS and Android apps.

Previously, X only permitted bold and italic text formatting for web users, but the feature’s expansion to mobile platforms has led to a significant increase in usage.

This new rule aims to encourage users to prioritize readability and aesthetic quality in their posts, ensuring the platform remains user-friendly.

With this new rule, X seeks to improve the visual experience for its users while preserving the integrity of the platform’s content.
