Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, Royal Enfield has announced a recall of its motorcycles manufactured between November 2022 and March 2023. The company said that during routine testing it was found that there is a potential problem in the rear and/or side reflectors fitted on motorcycles manufactured between November 2022 and March 2023. Although the exact number of affected bikes has not been disclosed. But this recall applies to all 11 models currently present in the company’s lineup.
What is the problem
These reflectors may not meet the reflective performance requirements as per the standard. And their reflective quality may be less than required. Royal Enfield said that testing has shown that reflectors were found in motorcycles manufactured during this period that cannot reflect light effectively. Especially in low light conditions. This can potentially affect the visibility of the motorcycle. Which can endanger the safety of the rider.
Will be replaced in just 15 minutes
The motorcycle manufacturer said that the process of replacing the faulty reflector is completed very quickly. Which takes only 15 minutes for each motorcycle. Royal Enfield’s service team will contact the customers of the affected motorcycles and schedule a time to replace the reflector.
Global recall and free replacement
Royal Enfield will replace the reflectors in the affected vehicles free of cost. The company further said, “The replacement process will be done in multiple phases, starting with customers in South Korea, the United States and Canada. It will then be implemented in other key markets like India, Europe, Brazil, Latin America and the UK.”
The company’s last launch was the updated Classic 350, which was followed by the all-new Guerrilla 450. Next, the automaker is preparing to launch the Classic 650, which will join the Super Meteor 650, 650 twins and Shotgun 650.
